Dr. John Fogarty, MD, FCCP, FACP, DABSM

Dr. Fogarty has been active in Sleep Medicine for twenty years, having helped start sleep medicine training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York. He is currently an attending physician in Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Disorders Medicine at Physicians East, P.A. and Vidant Medical Center (formerly PCMH) in Greenville, North Carolina. He is on faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. In 2010 Dr. Fogarty was recognized as the "Attending of the Year" for training of Pulmonary and Critical Care fellows, and was again recognized in 2011 for teaching excellence.

Dr. Fogarty completed his training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and prior to that did his Internship and Residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York. He earned his M.D. at St. George's University School of Medicine.

Dr. Fogarty's interests in Sleep Medicine include sleep-related breathing disorders, most notably sleep apnea and its impact in the workplace, narcolepsy, sleep movement disorders, circadian rhythm disorders, and restless legs syndrome. Dr. Fogarty actively cares for USMC Marines at the Cherry Point Naval Air Station who have experienced traumatic brain injury and are having sleep problems as well.

Dr. Fogarty identifies the Physicians East Sleep Disorder Center as the premier location for identification of sleep disorders, treatment planning, and following through on this to assure success of therapy and improve the quality of life for his patients.
     
   
Dr. Robert Dietrich, MD, FCCP, FACP, DABSM

Dr. Dietrich graduated from The George Washington School of Medicine with honors. He completed his postdoctoral internship and residency in Internal Medicine, as well as his fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Dietrich served at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, CA before he went into private practice. He joined Physicians East in 1991.

He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Disorders. Dr. Dietrich is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
     
   
Dr. Gabor Varju, MD

Dr. Varjú earned his MD at Pécs University Medical School in Hungary. He worked at WJB Dorn Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Columbia, SC and later at Duke University Medical Center before moving to Greenville, NC.

He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine at Vidant Medical Center (formerly PCMH), as well as his fellowship in Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. Dr. Varjú joined Physicians East in 2007.
     
   
Tiffany Strickland, RN, MSN, NP-C

Tiffany joined the Physicians East practice in November 2010 and is a Certified Nurse Practitioner that works with our Pulmonary physicians. She is a graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing.

She has worked in private practice before joining Physicians East and is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has undergone advanced training in sleep medicine through Atlanta School of Sleep Medicine.
